For all God’s promises are “yes” in Jesus. He came to fulfill and complete what God set in motion, bringing blessing and rescue to the world.
Our life isn't about "lording it over" others, commanding and demanding. Instead, it's about living a life under King Jesus. Jesus' warning was clear when he said, "But whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.” It's about emulating Jesus who came and succeeded where we failed. He's our righteousness, and as we live from Him (our vine) our lives become a sweet reflection of the image we bear.
Our seasoning and shining exist to point to the One who is the poor in spirit’s confidence, the mourning one’s comfort, the Guide who leads the meek in inheriting the earth, and satisfies the hunger & thirst for righteousness, who gives mercy to the merciful, revealing God to the pure in heart. He is brother to the peacemakers and He guides the persecuted into God's kingdom where their reward is great!
Our seasoning and shining bring out and spot light the One who is the answer to mankind’s questions, hope for the hopeless, freedom for the captives, healer of the wounded and the sick, provider for the needy, as He sets the world right again.
So, dear friends, be salt and light before a watching world that’s in desperate need of rescue. Praying our lives add God-seasoning to the world around us, shining brightly on Jesus, God’s great plan of rescue for all of creation. :)
